“One year. Three countries. 24 chefs.” – Carado’s culinary project. Professional chefs from Germany, Austria and Switzerland took part in “The Way of Taste” project to show that you don’t need the complete professional kitchen set up to cook creatively. To put this to the test, they conjured up fabulous meals in a Carado kitchen. They always had fresh local ingredients with them, most of which were picked or bought the same day. The chefs came up with some great ideas and recipes, which immediately make you want to ditch the usual pasta in tomato sauce and try something more adventurous.

FINDING A NEW INGREDIENT AND PUTTING IT STRAIGHT INTO A DISH: YOU CAN DO THAT!
Yes, the worktops are small. And yes, the intimate dimensions are a little restrictive. On the plus side, it helps you to clean everything up quickly and leaves you to focus on the main task at hand – enjoying food. And you will enjoy it more with every stop as your journey takes you passed local farmer’s markets, shops selling regional specialities and cherry trees that just so happen to be ripe for picking.
The freedom to be spontaneous and do whatever you fancy is great fun when cooking as well as travelling. Every single day of the project, the top chefs demonstrated everything you can do with a motorhome kitchen – and they certainly weren’t short on possibilities, which surprised Philip Rachinger, for example. He explains: “I’ve never cooked with such a small worktop, but these campers come so well equipped nowadays. If you’ve got the right equipment, allowing you to have two or three small pans on the go at the same time, even two courses can be prepared easily in a motorhome.”

A few good-quality, fresh ingredients, a little imagination and a simple love of food: These are the key ingredients for cooking a delicious recipe perfectly. You can even pull it off in your Carado kitchen.
Leave the ketchup at home next time, and try something new. The ingredients used by the cooks in their recipes are extremely simple, such as recently harvested fruit and vegetables, occasionally farm-fresh meat and sometimes ingredients literally picked along the way such as wild thyme or edible blossoms. Then all you need is a dash of imagination and your gourmet menu is practically done.
