What is an absorption refrigerator?
In our motorhomes we use the absorption refrigerator, a proven refrigerator technology that is characterized by its versatility and reliability. The absorption refrigerator can be operated with the following three energy sources:
- On-board battery with 12V direct current
- Shore power with 230V AC
- Gas
This flexibility allows you to operate the absorption refrigerator independently of your current power supply. Please note that the absorption refrigerator can react more sensitively to high temperature differences compared to the outside temperature.
Features such as its silent operation and the use of gas or electricity make it the ideal choice for anyone who likes to be self-sufficient and wants reliable cooling.
How is an absorption refrigerator operated?
- On/off switch: Turn the refrigerator on/off with the push of a button.
- Navigation buttons: The arrow buttons allow you to navigate left or right through the menu. The middle button can be used to confirm the selection. The current position in the menu is indicated by flashing and after confirmation the selection lights up permanently
- Automatic mode (A): The refrigerator automatically selects the best energy source (230 V, gas or 12 V).
- 230-volt mode (power plug): Operation via external power source
- 12-volt mode (battery): Operation via vehicle battery
- Gas mode (flame): Operation with gas, without electrical energy source
- Power levels (1-5): Individual adjustment of the cooling performance
What is a compressor refrigerator?
In our camper vans, we rely on compressor refrigerators, a modern cooling technology that is characterised by its high performance and independence from external temperatures. This refrigerator can be operated with two energy sources:
- On-board battery with 12V direct current
- Mains power with 230V alternating current, for example at a campsite
The compressor refrigerator is extremely energy-efficient and ensures constant cooling. It quickly reaches the desired temperatures and, thanks to its automatic temperature control, ensures optimum cooling under all conditions while consuming energy sparingly. In addition, the compressor refrigerator has a night mode to ensure a quiet environment during the night.
