The Carado Smart Battery System combines an AGM battery and an HY‑Tec 50 lithium battery into a coordinated overall system. This makes use of the respective strengths of both technologies: service life increases significantly, usable capacity remains the same, while weight and space requirements noticeably decrease.
The operating principle is clearly structured. First the AGM battery is charged preferentially, then the HY‑Tec 50 battery is fully supplied. During operation, the lithium battery delivers the power, while the AGM battery serves as a reliable buffer store. This protects the batteries and ensures even use.

Developed exclusively for Carado vehicles, the system increases the average battery service life from around three to up to ten years. Compared to a comparable AGM battery, around 20 kilograms of weight are saved, with significantly more compact dimensions. The existing charging technology in the vehicle remains usable unchanged thanks to intelligent battery management.

The system shows its strengths especially at low temperatures: the AGM battery takes up charge immediately, while the integrated heating of the HY‑Tec 50 lithium battery simultaneously ensures quick readiness to charge. Even below 0 °C, the power supply remains reliable.

Existing AGM batteries can continue to be used, which saves costs and conserves resources. The lithium iron phosphate technology used offers a high level of safety and delivers power without delay from engine start. The system is ideally suited for retrofitting, for replacing worn AGM batteries, and can be expanded step by step. Thanks to its compact, position-independent design, installation is also possible in smaller spaces. The HY‑Tec 50 battery is E-tested and has been tested by TÜV for temperature resistance and vibration – for a reliable power solution that meets the Carado standard.
